Did I ruin my lemon blueberry bread?!

Question: Did I ruin my lemon blueberry bread!?
The recipe called for 1-1/4 cup sugar!. Unfortunately I didn't realize until after it was already in the oven for 10 minutes and cleaning up, that 1/4 cup was to be reserved for the lemon & sugar to be drizzled over the bread after it came out of the oven!. I won't eating it, but serving it to a group!. Have I ruined it!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
It will be a little sweet, but don't worry about it:) !.!.!. I'm surprised that the glaze recipe doesn't call for powdered sugar, instead of granulated! You should whisk a little (start with 1 tsp) of lemon juice into 1/4 c!. powdered sugar, adjusting liquid/sugar, until of smooth consistency to drizzle on top!. It should have been granulated sugar that went into the bread though!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

So you basically added 1/4 cup extra sugar to the batter!? No, you haven't ruined it! It will be pretty sweet, but should be just fine!.

I would go ahead adn glaze it w/ the lemon juice and powdered sugar kind of glaze!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think you'll be fine, it will be sweeter, but you won't need the drizzle, though maybe you can think of another flavor that would decorate well without making the bread too sweet!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Probably not!. It will probably just be a little sweeter than normal!. Now if you ended up adding a whole extra cup of sugar that would be different!. It's probably fine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Nah, it'll be a little sweeter, but it'll still be great!. You should make more of a tart glaze for it though to even it out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

1/4 really isnt that mucgh extra!. it will just be really sweet, dont put as much sugar in the icing to make up for the sweet cake!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well taste it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't think so!. Should just be a little sweeter than normal!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
