Why can't I boil an egg in a microwave?!

Question: Why can't I boil an egg in a microwave!?
Years ago I tried this ( I want to blame my ex-wife, but it was probably my dumb idea) and of course we all know what happened!. I have been told if I took a small straight pin and pricked a small hole in both ends of an egg, I should be able to do so in a bowl with water and a little salt!. I tried to prick the wholes!.!.!.the egg ran!. I tried again and in the water, the egg ran!.!.!.!.let's NOT discuss the smell!.

Ideas!?

And HOW can I get rid of that smell!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
What I do is gently break open the shell and empty the egg into a special plastic container made for cooking eggs in a microwave!. You can also use a bowl!. But, you have to slightly stir the egg yolk, or it will still explode or burst in the mircrowave!. But it still taste the same as a hard boiled egg!.

I think I cooked for 40 or 50 seconds - you have to experiment to get it right!.

I can't answer the boiled egg question, but you can poach an egg in the microwave!.

I can help with the stinky egg smell!. Cut up a lemon or two, put in one of the large Pyrex measuring cups or any large microwave safe dish!. Pour water to cover the cut up lemon!. Put in the microwave and cook on high for about 5 minutes!. Don't let the water boil out!. You want it to steam!. The steam is lemon scented!. Once the water boils and steam!. Turn off the microwave and let the steam rise for a minute or so!. Now wipe the inside and outside with paper towel or clean dishtowel with the lemony water!. You can also use that lemon water on other surface in the kitchen to spread the natural lemon scent aroundWww@FoodAQ@Com

I do it all the time, crack open the egg, place egg microwaveable small container ,add about 6 drops of water, cover container with paper towel, fire up microwave for approx 34 seconds,bingoWww@FoodAQ@Com

fill a bowl with water and boil it for 15 minutes!. the microwave boiling method takes a while for eggs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
