Mexican cheese dip question.?!

Question: Mexican cheese dip question!.!?
Okay there is a Mexican restaurant near us, personally, I hate most of their food, no spice!.!.!. but the cheese dip they make is just so delicious, anyone has any idea what the cheese dip cheese most Mexican restaurants use!? It is just cheese with jalepenos(sp) I believe!.

Btw, it is white cheese that is used, a cream shade almost!. And no it isn't typical espinaca dip!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Ingredients:
1/4 lb White American Cheese (in the deli)
1/2 C Heavy Whipping Cream
1/4 stick butter
1 can chopped jalepenos

Chop the cheese into small pieces!. It usually comes sliced, so this is fairly easy to do!.

Melt the butter over medium heat in a large saucepan, then saute the jalepenos in the butter!. Add the cream and once warmed, add the cheese a little at a time!. Voila, real mexican-restaurant-style cheese dip!.

Most of the mexican restaurants I have been to, have a chili con queso dip, which I love!. I am not sure where you are located, but when I make it, I make it with velveeta cheese and a can of Ro-Tel tomatoes and chiles, if you haven't heard of it, it would be found near the spaghetti sauces in your grocery store, or you could also use a salsa you like, just add it slowly to the melted cheese, so you don't have more of a salsa dip instead of a cheese dipWww@FoodAQ@Com

There are several types of cheeses they could use!.

If you have a mexican market in your area you can go there to purchase the cheese!.
My guess is that it is Chihuahua cheese which has similar flavor to a mild cheddar and is white!.

Sounds like "Chile Con Queso"!.

The Mexican restaurant I work at makes it by mixing white jack cheese with sour cream, stirring and melting till it's the right consistency!. Then they add crushed red peppers!. Your location might add jalepeno peppers instead, would be great too!

Shouldn't be hard to make your own at home!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
