What is that sauce called in Vietnamese Restaurants?!


Question: What is that sauce called in Vietnamese Restaurants!?
I usually order grilled chicken, with rice and slaw!. It always comes with this orangy yellow clear sauce and is kind of tangy!. I pour the whole sauce over my food as a gravy and want to know the name of it sooo badly!. it is NOT spicy or hott AT ALL!. it is soo delicious, kind of an undercover sweetness, what is the name of this sauce!?!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Most Vietnamese dishes use fish sauce, or Nuoc Mam, which is made from anchovies!. It is usually mixed with a little sugar, vinegar, lime or lemon, garlic and chili pepper!. The basic one in the restaurant is probably just mixed with a little sugar & vinegar or lemon/lime!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It could be a Sweet and Sour sauce those tend to be a clear orange sauce!. Or maybe it's Nuoc Nam!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
