I'm hosting a dinner party! How much food should I make for 35?!
Hi! So, this dinner party would consist of these foods:
-Arepas (fried savory dough, think of it as a step up from a dinner roll)!.
-White rice!.
-Black beans!.
-Fried plaintains (not really sure if I should include this one)!.
-Cheese (for the arepas!)!.
-Cookies for dessert!.
There will be about 35 students!. I want to make sure I have enough food!. How many bags of rice/beans should I buy!? Left-overs are not a problem, I have a place to donate extra food!.
I would also really appreciate any pointers on cooking large batches of food, never done it before!.
Thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
1 cup of rice per person, so 1/2 cup dry, at the least!.
Same for beans!.
Do include the plantains!.!.!.they are a good nibble food! Half a plantain per person, Arepas sounds like fry-bread to me, usually 2-3 depending on the size, a card size piece per serving I would think!.!.!.
Cheese!? There's never enough cheese, is there!? :)
Consider baking your rice!? Saves the stove elements for the plantains and beans!.
Or bake the rice and beans together!.
Try allrecipe's, and just multiply their recipe you choose!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
