Does rice cook faster with different amounts of water?!

Question: Does rice cook faster with different amounts of water!?
Answers:
Yes, and it also depends on what kind of rice you are cooking!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No!. It depends on the variety of rice and if it's considered "new crop" or if it's older (older means more water since it's drier)!. Rice, on average, takes about 20 minutes to cook and some require a resting time of an additional 10 minutes!. Brown rice takes about 40 minutes and wild rice (not really a rice but a grass seed) takes 45-60 minutes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, I have found the best recipe for long grain white rice to be
1 1/2 cups water+1tsp salt
1 cup rice(converted rice, or rinse it first)
Heat until boiling
Set temperature to low
Cover, cook 10 min, stir
Cover, cook 10 more minutes!.

This always gives me perfect rice, especially for asian food!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i cook 1 cup rice 2 cups water but the trick is i always put a piece of foil over the pot of rice then over that i put the lid it cooks faster that way before you put the foil make sure the water is almost evaporated will cook in 10min or lessWww@FoodAQ@Com

it depends what kind of rice!. and how you like it!. less water means the rice won't be as sticky!. more water means stickier rice and a bit more soggy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
