Some foods just do not go together peanut butter and mustard !.!. marshmallows in spaghetti sauce !.!.!. Raisins sauce does go great with ham and raisins are excellent in some stuffings with walnuts and apples also some pork roasts are delicious with prunes ,raisins onions and apples but as a general rule , not in soups at all maybe pumpkin soup or squash soup How about fruit soup that it might go well in and hot fruit compote!.!.Raisins are also used in some non sweet food items in foreign dishes like Indian cooking I believe using saffron etc there may be some foreign dishes and possibly even soups that do use raisins in more exotic cooking Www@FoodAQ@Com

I guess it would depend what kinda soup we are talking about here but I would imagine it has something to do with the the fact that they are very sweet and also pre=dehydrated and hard to get full flavor out of!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
