Why does my pesto come out plain/tasteless?!
I used the following recipe, am I missing something!? It just didn't come out tasting like restaurant or store bought pesto!. It came out tastless!.
* 2 cups fresh basil leaves, packed
* 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
* 1/2 cup Olive oil
* 3 tablespoons pine nuts or walnuts
* 3 garlic cloves, finely minced

more parmesean, asiago, or romano
1/2 cup TOASTED pine nuts
a splash of lemon juice

I would add more garlic!.
If you can find fresh Oregano, throw in a handful!. Otherwise add a tablespoon or so of the dried!.
More flavorful olive oil = more expensive
Add at least a tablespoon of salt - this will improve the flavor immensely!.

if you are already adding salt, try a little lemon juice to up the flavor a bit!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
