Is Corningware the same or different than stoneware?!


Question: Is Corningware the same or different than stoneware!?
Just wondering if anybody knew!.

Corningware is specially designed to withstand temperature changes!. So you can use it to take a casserole out of the fridge and put it right into the oven without the dish shattering!.

Stoneware is very porous underneath the glaze and is not made to withstand those temperature changes!. They should only go from room temperature to the oven!. Otherwise, they can crack or break!.

Both bake evenly and brown well!. But for freezing or microwaving, use the corningware!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

corning ware is a glass cooking dish stuff that is oven proof!.

Stoneware is a pottery type dinnerware!. I think there are some baking dishes with it, it is also oven proof up to a point!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They are totally different!
Corningware is glass-ceramic made by Corning glass!.
Stoneware is a type of pottery made from clay!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
