Can i make apple pie with just puff pastry and canned pie apple?!
Answers:
Yes, you can!.
Line your pie dish with the pastry!. Prick it all over with a fork and bake it empty for a short while (not until it puffs and turns brown of course)!. You can also line your dish with pastry and put in a cup of dry beans while you bake it, so it won't rise!.
Then take it out and cool it a little!. Put your canned apple in, adding some cinnamon if you like it, and a few sultanas are nice too!.
Put a pastry lid on, pinch the edges, brush with milk, sprinkle with sugar, and bake again until brown and puffed!.
Good luck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

that's more a turnover than a pie!. I think the puff pastry on the bottom might do a couple of things -- it might puff up so much it pushes the filling out of the pie plate -- or -- it might not puff at all & be doughy, heavy and/or mushy (because of the quantity of filling you'd need to use for a pie)!.
You might try making individual turnovers!.!.!. put a small amount of filling in some squares of puff pastry - fold over to make a triangle - seal edges and cut a slit on top for venting - cook until browned!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
