How many of you know a Fish Monger?!

Question: How many of you know a Fish Monger!?
I realize I am in a "landlocked" state in the Midwest, but after hearing the recommendation a million times on Food Network to "get to know your fish monger," I'm wondering how many people REALLY have access to one!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
don't imagine that there are too many in the midwest!. they are more common where you have access to fresh seafood!.

if the closest you can get to a fish monger is your grocery store seafood counter then start there by talking to them about what they get and when and where it comes in!. otherwise you may be stuck heading to the frozen food aisle!. Do you have access to an upscale grocery store!? they might have a better selection of seafood!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You have to live along the coastline to really get to know a fish monger!. I live three miles as the crow flies from the Atlantic Ocean, and there is a farmer's market every Saturday near the pier, so yes, I know several fish mongers!. But unless you're buying fish almost off the boat, it's difficult to actually know that person!. Your next best thing is to know the manager of the seafood department at the grocery store!. I shop at Publix, and the fish/ meat department manager is awesome!. He always points me in the right direction for the best, freshest cut and will often cut packages in half for me if the portion is too much!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Not now
But in Sacramento I lived in an Asian Oriental community
there were three Super markets the fish department was (!?!?) elaborate fresh fish in tanks and iced fish on display
Being single I don't cook fish unless it is battered
But yes I did have fish mongers in my neighborhood
