Freezing Chicken question?!

Question: Freezing Chicken question!?
I am planning on buying two "fresh" chickens ready for the festive season and would like to know if you have to take the giblets and bits that are in the bag inside the chicken, out before you put them in the freezer or just put the whole lot in as it is!.I do not want to use the bits in the bag for anything and,do I need to wash the insides of them first!?
Thank you for your help!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would probably go ahead and freeze the chickens as they are; be sure to take them out of the freezer and place them in the refrigerator to thaw at least 3 days before you plan to cook them!. After they are thawed and you are preparing them for cooking, rinse them (after taking out the bags, etc!.) You can use a paper towel to blot them dry, inside and out!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

It really doesn't matter if you are going to freeze the chicken with the giblets or not, if you are not going to use them anyway just throw them out!. When you thaw your chicken I have found that if you put the frozen chicken in a brine of cold water to cover with 1/4 cup of salt ( for 2 chickens) and thaw in the fridge they turn out juicy and tender!. Give it a try, this is what they do in stores and restaurants that sell rotisserie chicken!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can discard the giblets before you freeze the chickens if you're not going to use them anyway, but you don't have to!. You can freeze the chicken with them in there!. You most definitely want to wash the insides really well before you cook them to prevent salmonella and other possible foodborne illnesses!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Mentor, FedEx the giblets to me, I cook those blend them and add them to the gravy, and I do my gravy from scratch not that packet stuff!. extra flavor man!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.where have you been hiding!. Your fresh chickens place in freezer bags tie or seal well and freeze, Night before or I should say afternoon before you want to cook them take out of freezer and thaw, sit back and enjoy a couple of beers!. Rinse well pat dry, don't forget under the wings!.

Have fun

no real need to but its up to you keep them in or get rid now it doesnt matter just remember the golden rules of rinsing before cooking and thoroughly defrost and ensure juices run clear and is cooked all the way through good luck,if you have a cat the insides can be boiled and fed to them thats what i do they love itWww@FoodAQ@Com

Just put the chicken in the freezer as is!. After you thaw it, remove the bag of giblets and rinse off the chicken before cooking!. Giblets are great for making gravy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
