Macaroni and cheese recipe...?!


Question: Macaroni and cheese recipe!.!.!.!?
I'm looking for a fabulous macaroni and cheese recipe!. Tried two already that I just didn't find cheesy enough!. Both contained sharp cheddar cheese only, so I'm looking for something that has a great cheese flavor and that's really gooey and cheesy!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Alton Brown is (arguably) the best chef on The Food Network!. I made the baked recipe here and it was fabulous!.!.!. have not tried the stove top recipe but because it comes from Alton Brown I just know it is great!!.



Baked Macaroni and Cheese
Alton Brown


1/2 pound elbow macaroni
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon powdered mustard
3 cups milk
1/2 cup yellow onion, finely diced
1 bay leaf
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 large egg
12 ounces sharp cheddar, shredded
1 teaspoon kosher salt
Fresh black pepper
Topping:
3 tablespoons butter
1 cup Panko* bread crumbs

* Panko is a Japanese bread crumb – Substitute plain or Italian if desired!.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F!.

In a large pot of boiling, salted water cook the pasta to al dente!.

While the pasta is cooking, in a separate pot, melt the butter!. Whisk in the flour and mustard and keep it moving for about five minutes!. Make sure it's free of lumps!. Stir in the milk, onion, bay leaf, and paprika!. Simmer for ten minutes and remove the bay leaf!.

Temper in the egg!. Stir in 3/4 of the cheese!. Season with salt and pepper!. Fold the macaroni into the mix and pour into a 2-quart casserole dish!. Top with remaining cheese!.

Melt the butter in a sauté pan and toss the bread crumbs to coat!. Top the macaroni with the bread crumbs!. Bake for 30 minutes!. Remove from oven and rest for five minutes before serving!.


Stove Top Mac and Cheese

2 eggs
6 ounces evaporated milk
1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
1 teaspoon kosher salt
Fresh black pepper
3/4 teaspoon dry mustard
10 ounces sharp cheddar, shredded

In a large pot of boiling, salted water cook the pasta to al dente and drain!. Return to the pot and melt in the butter!. Toss to coat!.

Whisk together the eggs, milk, hot sauce, salt, pepper, and mustard!. Stir into the pasta and add the cheese!. Over low heat continue to stir for 3 minutes or until creamy!.

1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup of grated parmesan cheese
1 1/2 cup of milk
tsp black pepper
4 cups cooked noodles ( I use elbow noodles)
3 cups shredded 2 cheese blend ( I usually grate a block of cheddar and monterary cheese myself and mix alot more than 3 cups- I love cheese!!)


Stir soup ,cheeses, milk and black pepper in a casserole dish!. Add pasta!. Mix!. I usually put more cheese on top of the pasta!. Bake at 400 degrees for about 30-40 minutes!.

BAKED HOMEMADE MACARONI AND CHEESE

Elbow macaroni
2 lbs!. Cheddar cheese
1 sm!. pkg!. Mozzarella cheese
Milk
3 eggs
Med!. bowl of bread crumbs
2 green peppers
Salt and pepper

Cook macaroni until done!. Add your cheeses, then add eggs, milk, green peppers, salt and pepper!. Mix and then put into baking pan, then put bread crumbs on top!. Heat oven to 275 degrees!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

QUICK AND EASY MAC AND CHEESE

1 sm!. box elbow macaroni
2 heaping tbsp!. butter
1 sm!. box Velveeta cheese
2 tbsp!. milk

Cook macaroni in salted water until tender, drain well and return to pot!. Add milk, butter, sliced cheese!. Heat over a low fire until all cheese is melted!. Stir constantly!. Pour into dish and let set 3 to 5 minutes before serving!.

Mac and Cheese is pretty easy to experiment with!. Go melt some cheese that you like!. If it isn't cheesy enough, add more!. If you don't like the way the cheese tastes, change the type of cheese!. You can even mix different cheeses for a different flavor!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

My mother always made it with american cheese but added crushed tomatoes to each layer!. She said it was baked macaroni and that she got the recipe from her father, a fireman!. It's really good!. Enjoy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
