I don't have a candy thermometer...?!


Question: I don't have a candy thermometer!.!.!.!?
I am trying to make marshmallows but I don't have a candy thermometer!.!. the recipe says to heat til 235 degrees!. is there a way to make them with our using thermometer!? like a time length to boil it!? could I use my meat thermometer!. ( clean of coarse) Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can use a meat thermometer as long as it's clean and it goes up to that temperature (which it should)!. dip it in and just don't let it touch the bottom or sides!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Instant read or probe thermometer would be a better replacement!.

Or, just use the soft ball/hard ball method

I'm a good cook ,BUT!.!.candy is dandy ONLY if you get a candy thermometer!.!.it's very touchy!.!.Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Or a deep fat fryer thermometer if you have one of those!.
