Need help with my weighing scales?!

Question: Need help with my weighing scales!?
I bought a cheap weighing scales and wish i didn't now!. On the scales it says 1000g x 20g!. It also says !.
0, 40, 80, 120, 160, 200, 240, 280, 320, 360, 400, 440, 480, 520, 560, 600, 640, 680, 720, 760, 800, 840, 880, 920, 960, 1000!.
I want to make a rice pudding and on the box it says use 40g (1 and a half oz) of rice and 25g (1oz) of caster sugar!. But is 40g the 40 mark on the scales and where is the 25g!.

Answers:
There is only so much resolution you can put into Kitchen scales which are quite crude devices!. the 0-40 segment will have a 20g tick half way!. If you put in the caster sugar just past this mark the approximate weight will be 25g!. It should be accurate enough for a recipe!.

Your scale is telling you that is weighs up to a maximum weight of 1kg and that it weight in the denominations of 0, 40, 80 etc!. It probably doesn't have space to put each individual number on it!.

Is it one with a plastic top and underneath is a little red indicator with all the numbers!? Or something like that!?

So 40g would be on the 40 mark as you guessed, 25 would simply be just over halfway between the 0 and 40!.

Just because it's cheap doesn't mean it's not good, a little bit more use and it'll become easier!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes 40 is the 40g mark and
as it has no 25 - you will have to measure roughly half of 40 and add a bit!.
Alternatively 10z of caster sugar is usually a tablespoon!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

25g is just a tad over 20 grams which is halfway between 0 and 40 - so just past the halfway mark would be your 25 grams!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
