Frying frozen steak!?!

Question: Frying frozen steak!!?
Can anyone tell me is it okay to cook a steak straight from the freezer!? And does it take longer!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Don't listen to the folks who have answered before me!. I cook steak straight from the freezer frequently, especially when I want to ensure it's cooked rare or medium rare!. I usually don't pan fry it, rather I cook it on the grill!. I rub the still-frozen steak with olive oil (which will somewhat solidify, but that's okay), season with salt and pepper, then grill over high heat for about 5-6 minutes a side!. This makes for a great crust on the outside and a cool, red center!. It's absolutely delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are some people who are so totally uneducated! They wouldn't dream of cooking a frozen anything straight from the freezer!.

YES!! You can cook any steak any way even when frozen solid as long as you can get the plastic wrap to separate the layers out of it first!!

I have pan fried, pan broiled, broiled, grilled, and stewed meats of all kinds from the frozen state when I didn't think ahead far enough or had extra faces at the table!.

Pan frying and pan broiling require lower temp to cook the meat sufficiently after searing the outside!. so yes, it takes longer to cook it to your degree of doneness!.

Broiling and grilling require a bit longer cooking time if one wants it medium or cremated!.

Even roasts can be put in the roasting pans and put into the ovens frozen solid!. They take a couple hours longer to cook, But it can be done!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Leave the steak in a freezer bag and put it in a large bowl in the sink!.

Turn the COLD water on, fill the bowl, then turn the water down to a trickle!. Your steak will be thawed in less than half an hour!.

Cooking a frozen steak will result in a burned or over-cooked exterior and an under-cooked interior!.

Tossing frozen ground meat into a skillet is one thing, but trying the same thing on solid cut of meat does not result in good eats!.

It won't cook evenly, and yes, it will take longer to cook!. I don't advise frying a frozen steak!. I suggest letting it sit under cool running water until it's defrosted, or thaw it out in the microwave first!.

Whatever you do, don't listen to someone who says they "heard" you can BROIL a frozen steak!. I almost caused a house fire by doing that!.!.!.the ice crystals and fat hit the broiler flame!. If you have access to a grill in October, then by all means, go ahead!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

nope u cant do that, defrost it in the fridge or u know what i have done when i hungry as heck and i want to eat, get a large bowl with hot water and place the packet of meat in there leave for 20 min then when its somewhat defrosted bring your fire to a low setting season the meat and cover it with the lid!. that should do it:)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I never did it, but I have read that you can broil a frozen steak!. They said it was juicer than when it's not frozen!. In your case, I would just defrost in the micro!. If you plan out your meals you can defrost in the fridge and have things on hand ready when you want them!. (Just a hint)Www@FoodAQ@Com

No way, you must thaw it out properly first, whenever we decide to eat steak, we get it out of the freezer the night before and leave it in the microwave overnight and then return it to the fridge before we go to work!. Then we get home and cook!.

Very thin steak is OK!.

Regular steak, no!.
Let it thaw or put it in the microwave for 30 seconds on high, and then 30 seconds on defrost, flip, 30 seconds on defrost, flip, until thawed!.
But, letting it thaw on the counter is best!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

no, don't do it!. The inside won't get done before the outside is burned!. also, the moisture from the ice inside the steak will come out and make it like you are boiling it !.!.!.YUCK!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's best to thaw it first!. Put the sealed package in a sinkful (or bowl) of cool water and it should thaw in a couple of hours!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

defrost it, put it in a bag and under 'hot' water!.
or defrost in the microwave!.

next remember to take in out over night or early morning!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Not a good idea, it'll be tough!.
Defrost it in the microwave, or leave in the frig to thaw!.
Don't have a microwave & can't wait!? Put it in a baggie in cold water!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

De-frost it first and then cook it, otherwise it probably won't cook properly!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

no its not okay , dont do it NEVER EVER EVER COOK MEAT FROM FROZEN , BASIC FOOD HYGEINE RULE,,,,,,,,,,,,,, i cant believe some of these answers !!!.!.!. never ever defrost meat in hot water zzzzzzzWww@FoodAQ@Com
