Answers:
According to C&H "Sugar, properly stored, has an indefinite shelf life because it does not support microbial growth!." Proper storage means in an air tight container free of moisture!.

This only applies to granulated sugar - brown sugar should be used within the year!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

my mate told me that honey doesn't go bad because it's all carbohydrates and that it's the fat in food that goes off/smelly, I reckon sugar is the same deal!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sugar doesn't go bad, as long as you keep it dry!. Even if it gets damp, the worst that can happen is it turns hard!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

If it looks like it did 5 years ago and there are no bugs or rodents or evidence thereof, it's likely fine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It may not be bad but I wouldn't eat it Www@FoodAQ@Com

as long as it has not been exposed to moisture, it should be fine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
