I tasted asparagus for the first time last week. ?!
I really liked it and I was wondering if I got some from the supermarket how to prepare it at home!? Where is the best place to get it!? I had it at Papadeux so it was seasoned very well, I want it to taste that way!. It was so good!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

you can grill it over an open flame or put saute it in a pan!. toss it the asparagus in olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder!. fresh minced garlic would be better!. then just throw it on the grill/pan with butter and cook until tender!.
oh yeah, dont over cook it until it they are limp, you still want a little bit of a snapWww@FoodAQ@Com

Roasting it in the oven is my favorite, as well as grilled!. For roasting, lightly coat with good olive oil (a Misto is perfect to apply if you have one), and put in a 425 degree oven for about 15-25 minutes (don't over bake ~ crunch is good)!. I sometimes also like to add quartered zucchini, thickly sliced red onions, bell peppers, whole cherry tomatoes, a few sprigs of your favorite herb (Rosemary loves everything in my house!), and garlic!. Make sure to turn about every 5 minutes after the first 10 minutes of baking time, and watch carefully towards the end!.
If just doing asparagus, I also love it topped with provolone/parmesan cheese browned under the broiler after it has been roasted (make sure to cover the entire spear with cheese so they do not burn)!.
On the grill, coat it lightly with olive oil as above, and make sure to keep turning every minute or so (depending upon how hot your grill is)!. When I do a veggie mix, as above, I skewer them, and just pay attention that they do not burn!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hi,
when you are buying asparagus make sure you buy the skinny female asparagus!. The fat (male) asparagus is not as tasty as the skinny asparagus!. To cook it you just need to steam it!. Place asparagus in a bowl or pot placed over a pot with water in it!. You should steam it for 3 - 4 minutes only!. You want it firm not limp!. If you over steam it, it will be yucky!. You can add garlic and salt to the water, so that the steam flavours the asparagus!. also you can cover it with garlic butter, or regular butter and sliced almonds!. YUMMMMMWww@FoodAQ@Com
