What do you put on steamed vegetables?!

Question: What do you put on steamed vegetables!?
i just had some and put flax seeds, spices like pepper, salt, cajun, sunflower seeds, and a little balsamic vinegar!.

I figure you need to add it after because you can't exactly add it while it's in the steamer, can you!? thanks so much!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Any type of seasoning salt with pepper, melted butter, sprinkled Parmesan cheese, or even a cheddar cheese sauce would work nicely!. Here's a simple recipe for you to use too!.

CHEDDAR CHEESE VEGETABLE SAUCE

Ingredients:

* 3 tablespoons butter
* 3 tablespoons flour
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/8 teaspoon ground black or white pepper
* 1 1/2 cups milk

Preparation:

Melt butter; remove from heat!. Stir in flour and seasonings!. Gradually add milk, stirring until well mixed!. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and smooth!. Cook for 5 minutes longer; add cheese!. Stir until smooth and well blended!. Serve with pasta or vegetables!. Makes 2 cups!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

My husband came up with an interesting concoction:

Steamed veggies (cauliflower, broccoli, bell peppers, vidalia onion, carrots) - we use a few tablespoons of Smart Balance butter

Layer veggies on a soft tortilla (I prefer whole wheat) with the following:
Refried beans
Fat free sour cream
Salsa (with cilantro is best)

Easy, filling, and surprisingly delicious!. Enjoy!Www@FoodAQ@Com
