Cooking for "maternity leave"?!

Question: Cooking for "maternity leave"!?
I live with my parents, and its not like my mom and sister can't cook, I just do it better lol! I have a few things I'm cooking a head of time, but any more suggestions would be AWESOME!!

My real questions is where do you get those metal pans from and will they go on sale after the holidays (after Christmas leaves me about 9 weeks)!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Here are some great ideas for freeze ahead food:

also given are tips for freezing the food!.

I agree with the other two about the metal pans!. Best place to find them is in a discount store (Dollar Store, Wal-mart, K-mart or get them from a warehouse store such as Costco, BJ's or Sam's Club!.) You can also find them on ebay!. Type in aluminum baking in the Search field and you'll find lots of deals!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Grocery stores and discount stores like Target and K-Mart sell those metal pans, which are great for cook-ahead-and-freeze meals!.

Only holiday-decorated ones will go on sale for sure, unless a store ordered too many to roll into its regular stock!. (They're sold year-round!.)

You can use your everyday baking dishes!. Line the dish with foil, make the food you want to freeze, and freeze it!. Once it's frozen hard, seal it (foil and all) well in plastic wrap and remove the dish!. This saves freezer space, too!.

When you want to eat one of the frozen meals, thaw it in the dish in your refrigerator or microwave (remove foil for the microwave, of course), then bake!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

James Lee's, I think you got tied up with the first part you didn't elaborate on the second part, if your talking bed pans, some larger pharmacies have them!. Now if your talking baking pans, most big stores like Linen Chest have a good assortment!. If anything specialized go to one of those kitchen outlets that sell everything from drink mixer utensils, to dishes and dinner wear, to cooking specialties and nic nacs!.

Almost forgot to congratulate you on the future little addition!.

Metal pans can be purchased at your local grocery store!. I have actually gotten some quality ones in the dollar store!

I'd suggest you should cook a lasagna, any sort of casserole (Chicken A La King or even Green Bean Casserole), spaghetti & meatballs, and many other "larger" meals so that you have plenty of leftovers!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You get "those metal pans" from the grocery store!.

Buy some tupperware in individual serving sizes so you can freeze some stuff too!. It's getting colder, so a beef stew would be good!. That tends to freeze nicely!. Then all they have to do is take it out of the freezer, dump it into a pan and heat it up!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
