I make my own bread in a bread machine!. It is a heavy german mix!. I have been wrapping it it in paper towling and putting in a plastic bag and then in the fridge!. I suspect that this is not the best way!. What is the best way to keep whole unsliced bread so it stays as fresh as possible!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
you can store your unsliced loaf on your counter in a paper bag for about a week depending on the fat content once you slice it you will have to wrap it in plastic to keep it from going stale if you are making bread as much as i do you don't have to worry about the freezer never put a good bread in the fridgeWww@FoodAQ@Com

I frequently make my own home made bread from whole wheat flour!. When it is done and cooled, I slice it and place the loaf in a Debbie Meyer green bag!. Now, she has a new tan colored bag out specifically for breads!. As soon as I see a set in our stores, I am going to buy them and use them instead of the green ones (for veggies)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Bread stays fresh when you freeze it!. It will stale and possibly grow mold in the fridge!. Slice the loaf, then freeze it, then pull out as many slices as you want to eat when your are ready!. Slices of bread defrost fairly quickly!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

why bother w/ the paper towel!? Zipper bag in the fridge is fine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
