Can anyone tell me how to...?!


Question: Can anyone tell me how to!.!.!.!?
keep cookies soft after they have sat out!. Mine stay soft right after they come out of the oven and then ten to fifteen minutes later they start to get hard!. any suggestions to keep this from happening!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Your original recipe is the source of your problems, sorry to say!. Sifting your flour incorporates air, thereby making it softer and lighter, using room temperature butter and eggs helps tremendously, use a lightly colored cookie sheet, or put parchment paper on darker ones, pull out the cookies one minute before the recipe calls for!. Most recipes these days will offer suggestions for harder or softer cookies, you might want to research that, but I've used the recommendations listed above for decades and it always works for me, I really don't like hard cookies, I like them soft too! Usually, they set up as they cool!. You have to take them out of the oven before they look done!. They will look almost raw in the center, but they will harden to just the right consistency as they cool!. As long as they're brown on the bottom, they're done!.
When they're cool, store them in airtight containers!. You can put a slice of bread in with them to keep them soft!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Try this recipe

This will get your cookies soft; and you will not taste any mayo; also try adding pudding mix with milk (prepare as directed) and add after the eggs

2 sticks of butter
2 c!. of sugar
6 tbsp mayonnaise
2 eggs
4 c!. self rising flour
1 tsp!. vanilla

Cream butter, mayo and sugar!. Add 1 egg at a time!. Add flour and vanilla!. Roll and refrigerate overnight!. Cut 1/4 inch thick!. Bake at 325 to 350 degrees for 8 to 12 minutes on greased cookie sheet

Check your recipe and be sure you are not adding too much flour!. Be sure to spoon your flour into the measuring cup and level it, otherwise you might be adding too much!. It could also be your cookie sheets!. If they are dark brown from use, it may be time to replace them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
