What are some other sweet/dessert breads out there?!


Question: What are some other sweet/dessert breads out there!?
I know of Banana Nut Bread, Pumpkin Bread, Zucchini Bread, Cinnamon Raisin Bread!. I am looking for something not incredibly sweet and something fairly healthy!. Recipes, links and ideas are welcome! =)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Monkey Bread --



INGREDIENTS
3 (12 ounce) packages refrigerated biscuit dough
1 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 cup margarine
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
1/2 cup raisins



DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)!. Grease one 9 or 10 inch tube pan!.
Mix white sugar and cinnamon in a plastic bag!. Cut biscuits into quarters!. Shake 6 to 8 biscuit pieces in the sugar cinnamon mix!. Arrange pieces in the bottom of the prepared pan!. Continue until all biscuits are coated and placed in pan!. If using nuts and raisins, arrange them in and among the biscuit pieces as you go along!.
In a small saucepan, melt the margarine with the brown sugar over medium heat!. Boil for 1 minute!. Pour over the biscuits!.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 35 minutes!. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a plate!. Do not cut! The bread just pulls apart!.

Moist Date Nut Bread --



INGREDIENTS
2 1/2 cups chopped dates
1/4 cup butter
1 cup boiling water
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped walnuts



DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees F)!. Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan!.
In a medium bowl, combine the dates and butter!. Pour boiling water over them, and let stand until cool!.
When the dates have cooled, stir the mixture to break up any clumps!. Mix in the brown sugar and egg until well blended!. Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt; stir into the date mixture until just blended!. Pour into the prepared pan!.
Bake for 50 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a wooden pick inserted into the center comes out clean!.

Lemon Poppy Seed Bread --



INGREDIENTS
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup vegetable oil
2 1/4 cups white sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons poppy seeds
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 teaspoons lemon extract
2 teaspoons butter flavored extract
1/4 cup orange juice
3/4 cup confectioners' sugar



DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)!. Grease two 8x4 inch loaf pans!.
Mix the flour, salt, baking powder, eggs, milk, vegetable oil, white sugar, poppy seeds, 1 1/2 teaspoons of the vanilla, lemon and butter flavoring!. Stir until just combined and pour the batter into the prepared pans!.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 1 hour!. Cool for 5 minutes then poke holes in the top of the bread with a meat fork and pour glaze over tops!.
To Make Glaze: Mix the orange juice, confectioner's sugar, and the remaining 1/2 teaspoon each of the vanilla, butter and lemon flavorings!. Use immediately to pour over the still warm loaves!.

Try blueberry muffin bread!! Yummy! You could also use any other fruits in place of the blueberries such as raspberries, blackberries, cherries, strawberries, marion berries or boysenberries!.
also, cranberry orange bread or lemon poppy seed is good!
Almond poppy too! There are so many I love! I hope this helps and good luck!
