Question: Can anyone recommend good non-vegetarian recipes that include chickpeas!?
Answers:
Chicken with Chickpeas

1 (3 pound) whole chicken, cut into pieces
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 onion, chopped
1 teaspoon ground turmeric
1 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans, drained
1 lemon, juiced
3 cloves garlic, minced
salt to taste
ground black pepper to taste
2 cups water

In a large skillet, saute onion in oil until golden!.
Sprinkle turmeric in pan, and mix well!. Put chicken on top, and brown on all sides!.
Add about 2 cups water, chickpeas, lemon juice, garlic, and salt and pepper!. Bring to a boil!. Simmer gently for about 1 hour, or until the chicken is tender and the liquid is reduced!. Taste to adjust seasonings!.

My mom makes a dish with portuguese sausage thinly sliced and garlic and tomatoes and onions and just pan fryed on medium heat with a splash of red wine!. You can do that with any bean I think!.
Its pretty good!. If you can't get portuguese sausage spanish chorizo is pretty close!.
You can also make a cold salad with tuna, onions, parsley, salt, pepper and iol and vinagar and let it marinate!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yea chickpea salad just throw it over a salad w/ lettace and w/e u like i like nuts in there italian dressing spinach carrots craisans an well grilled chicken!
or try just eating them as a side dish along w/ chicken or steak or pork w/e
