Is it possible to steam carrots until they are fork-tender?!

Yum Yum Yum I love carrots!.!.!.but if you have large ones it will take a while so I suggest you peel them and cut into 3rds!.!.!.so the steam can cook them faster!. !.!.be careful the steam can really burn so be careful and lift the lid away from your face and use a mitt so you don't burn your fingers!.!.!.it's always best to be careful!.
Parsley, butter, mint OR dill are great with carrots!.
My Mom used to make a white sauce that is very easy to do and pour it over the steamed veggies she prepared!.
The sauce is made with:
3 tablespoons of butter or margarine
3 tablespoons all purpose flour
2 cups of whole milk
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese OR Cheddar cheese
dash of salt and pepper
Mix the butter and flour together is a medium size boiler pot on medium heat keep stirring until it becomes a paste!.!.and no more flour appears!. Add the milk heat it first in the microwave until it's warm but watch it so it does not boil over !.!.!.or you will be upset with me!.!.LOL!. using a whisk add the milk to the flour and butter add the rest of the ingredients and stir constantly until thick!. Sauces like this need to be cooked on low so they do not burn on the bottom!.

yes, my dads perfected this, when he cooks (rarly ever) he always overdoes carrots, peas and things!.

It depends on your steamer and how many carrots you put in it!. I steam mine for about 20-30 minutes!. It is really a trial and error process!. I use baby carrots!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
