Best way to cook pumpkin?!

Question: Best way to cook pumpkin!?
I have 2 sugar pie pumpkins that I did not carve for Halloween and thought I'd make some pie!. What is the best way to cook them!?!? If I cut them into slices like one does with cantelope and then slice the skin off, is it really tough to cut!? Or is it best to cut them in half, scoop out the seeds, bake, scoop out the flesh, then cook until the water content is reduced!?!? I'd like some answers from someone who has done this please! Thank you!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Check out my source link for step-by-step instructions with pictures! But I'll tell you basically what it says:
1!. Chop off the top!.
2!. Cut pumpkin in half
3!. Scrape out the stringy guts and seeds
4!. Place on a baking sheet (face up or down works equally well)
5!. Bake for 45 min!. in a 350 degree oven
6!. When it's done the inside will be nice golden brown and the skin will have gotten wrinkly!. You can now easily scrape or peel the skin off with a knife!.
7!. Take the baked inside and throw in a food processor (you can even use a potato masher)
8!. You're done! You can freeze the pumpkin in plastic bags and use it any time you would the canned stuff, and it's way better!.

I used to cut the pumpkin in half, scoop out the seeds, cut the pumpkin into quarters (or more if it's too big)!.

Wash the pumpkin!. Then I took the biggest pot in my house, put a metal trive on the bottom, put a few inches of water in the bottom and put the pumpkin wedges in, cover, cook until flesh is soft!. Save some of the pumpkin water!. After the pumpkin cools, I'd scoop the meat out and set aside!. Then I'd put it in a blender (you have to add some of the pumpkin water or else it'd be too thick for the blade to move!. I'd use the processed pumpkin for baking!. Mostly pies!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Cut the pumpkins in half add a pat of butter, brown sugar and cinnamon!. Bake until nice and soft!. Scoop out pumpkin and mix in food processor!. Use this in your recipe for pie, bread or whatever you use pumpkin for!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
