Can I soak the raisins first?!


Question: Can I soak the raisins first!?
When grandma use to make raisin bread she would always soak her raisins to make the plumper!.

I was wondering if I can do the same when making oatmeal raisin cookies!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

The only way you could soak the raisins with out making the mixture mushy would be to soak them in the required ammont of water needed for reciepe!.!. I wouldnt soak for 2 long as the raising will absorb the water but will still be moist enough to make

It may add too much moisture to your cookie dough!. What I do is mix up my recipe that I add 1 tablespoon of water to and let it sit for about 20 minutes before I bake them!. This seems to really make a difference and they are moist and chewy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't see why not!. I soak them in rum to make Rum-Soaked Raisin Cookies!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
