How do you cut your round cake and pies? ?!

Question: How do you cut your round cake and pies!? !?
Let's say for pretend you have a cake or pie of course in a round shape!.!.!.!.!. How do you guys start cutting them!? I'm soooooo curious right now I know it sounds stupid to ask this question lol Do you start cutting from the middle and work the triangle OR do u cut it like a pizza, making that star shape where all the slices or evenly cut!?
My mom ALWAYS yells at me cus I always want to cut the cakes or pies in a pizza kind of way only so the slices will be even u would think right lol!. NO she hates that! She always wants me to start cutting in the middle and work the triangle even if it's not even slices!. LOL I'm really anal when it comes to cakes or pies being cut perfect so I'll know everyone will get a piece and no one will get more then the other it's only fair!. lol! I know this is a stupid question but just curious as to how you guys cut your cakes and if u start in the middle and working the triangle why do u do that!? So u can get the bigger slice lol cus I think that's why my mom does that lol! And don't say u don't cut the cake u just eat it like that lol I know I do that too lol But for reals though lol!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I only cut them like you when I know we are going to have company and slices need to be uniform in size and shape!. When it's just me, the husband and kids, it's more informal!. I then will start from the middle and custom cut the size I want and everyone else follows suit!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I cut one piece at a time so everyone gets the size they want!. Then there is less waste!. Nothing is worse than seeing cake or pie left on a plate because they were given too much while others would have eaten more!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would chose you to cut the cake for the party!. Mine are always uneven because I cut triangles from center out to the edge!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I cut from one side to the other starting at the crust and then i cut straight edges to the middle I just made so that there enough pieces for everyone!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You cut a pizza like a pizza!.
Not a cake!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I always start in the middle to the edge then turn and again and again!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

You don't want to cut the whole thing if you aren't eating it all at once!. If it's a pie, the goo will run in between the slices, and cake will dry out between the slices!.

But if you are serving it at an event like a party where it's all gone at once, cut it like a pizza into wedges!. Can you get all the lines to cross the same spot in the middle!? or is there an odd little piece in the center from missing!?

Same size pieces, I have found isn't a big deal unless you are serving kids who need everything to be "FAIR"!. But most adults all want different size piece from a heaping helping to a sliver!. It doesn't have to be perfectly equal size pieces!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

OK, for a round cake, there are a couple of options: cut it like a pizza, or cut the whole cake in quarters, then cut thin slices from each quarter!. The outside slice will have the most frosting that way, but some people like it!

With pies, the only way you should cut them is like a pizza!. Cut them in either six or eight slices!.

If you look around, some kitchen stores have a nifty device that you press lightly on top of a cake!. It leaves little marks that show you where to slice!. Perfect every time!Www@FoodAQ@Com
