Okay since you don't have the funds to purchase all the seasoning and spice you want then get what you need and if you careful you can get some spices with two - three seasonings inside, such as Lemon and pepper seasoning salt, Adobe, check which seasonings you may need for now, i!.e!. meat tenderizer, ground garlic and parsley, Mrs!. Dash, cinnamon and nutmeg!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm not paula but here is what I would start with

Salt
Black pepper ( in a grinder)
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Vanilla extract

After that
Red pepper flakes
Cumin
Chili powder
Cinnamon

You need the first group for almost everything in cooking and vanilla is a great thing to add when baking sweets!. The second group is less important ( unless making chili) and you can usually get by without it, but you cannot get by without the first group!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

That really depends on what ethnic cuisines you like to make:) But, I think that these are essential for me!.!.!.!.!.!.

Sea or Kosher salt
fresh ground pepper
Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning (like seasoned salt)
dried dillweed (good on fish; cucumber/potato/egg salads)
oregano
basil
rosemary
cumin
chili powder (I have several varieties)
paprika (if you can splurge on smoky paprika too, go for it!)
red pepper flakes
A big jar of minced garlic (keep in the refrigerator)

Spices for baking:
cinnamon
ginger
nutmeg

Those should carry you through most of the basic things:)

Oh, vanilla and almond extracts too!.!.!.!.
powdered, granulated & brown sugar
flour
baking powder & baking soda
chocolate chips
baking chocolate
unsweetened cocoa powderWww@FoodAQ@Com

First of all do you have a Fresh market!?this way they are not as expensive !.!.because they are weighed in little baggies!.Not in jars!.Some spices will only be like 42 cents!?

salt
pepper
garlic
Montreal Steak seasoning (its the best once you try it you will have to say its must have for meats)made by McCormicks!.
chili powder
parsely
you can grow herbs like rosemary and parsely in your ktichen window makes the house smell nice you just pick it when needed!.
Publix sells these in produce section!.
I would pick one up each time i make a meal that needs a certain one because they normally say they are only good for six mon!.!.(emerill lagassee)
You will know which ones you use the most by the way you cook!.!.
