Whats a good Apple Dumpling recipe? ?!

APPLE DUMPLINGS
Pastry for 9 inch 2 crust pie makes 6 dumplings!. 8 inch 2 crust pie makes 4 dumplings!. Roll out pastry a little less than 1/8 inch and cut into 7 inch squares!. Pare and core a medium sized tart, juicy apple for each dumpling!. Prepare syrup!. Temperature 425 degrees for 40-45 minutes!.
SYRUP FOR 6 DUMPLINGS:
Boil together for 3 minutes:
2 c!. water
3 tbsp!. butter
1/4 tsp!. cinnamon
FILLING FOR APPLE CAVITIES:
1/2 c!. sugar
1 1/2 tsp!. cinnamon
Dot with 1 tbsp!. butter
Pour hot syrup around dumplings

4 apples (peeled and halved)
1 1/2 tbsp!. sugar for ea!. dumpling
1 tsp!. butter for ea!. dumpling

Put dough on floured board, lightly roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness!. Cut in 4-6 inch squares!. On each square place one prepared apple, core cavity with sugar, flavored with cinnamon!. Dot with butter!. Bring edges of dough to a top knot!. Pinch edges tightly; set in a pan!. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes!.

Apple Dumplings with Rich Cinnamon Sauce

"This dessert stands on its own, but a scoop of vanilla ice cream certainly wouldn't hurt!."
INGREDIENTS:
5 tablespoons softened butter
1 cup packed dark brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 cup chopped toasted
pecans or walnuts
4 apples (any variety but Red
Delicious) peeled, halved, and
cored, a thin sliver cut off
bottoms so apples sit flat
1 (15 ounce) container 9-inch
pie crusts
1 egg white
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons cornstarch
DIRECTIONS:
1!. Adjust oven rack to lower-middle position and heat oven to 425 degrees!.
2!. Mix 3 Tbs!. of butter, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1 tsp!. cinnamon and all the nuts in a small bowl!. Spoon a portion of the mixture into each hollowed-out apple core!.
3!. For boxed pie crusts, unroll one of the dough sheets onto a floured work surface!. Pulling on sides of dough to straighten rounded edges, roll it into an approximate 12-inch square, then cut the dough into four 6-inch squares; brush the perimeter of each square with egg white!. Set an apple half on each square!. Bring up the 4 corners of dough around the apple and pinch edges to seal!. Place on a large (at least 18- by 12-inch) parchment-covered baking dish!. Brush dumpling tops and sides with egg white; sprinkle with sugar!. Repeat process with remaining apples and dough!.
4!. Bake dumplings until pastry sets and starts to turn golden brown, about 10 minutes!. Reduce heat to 375 and bake until golden brown, about 20 minutes longer!.
5!. While apples bake, bring 1 cup water, the remaining 2 Tbs!. butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1 tsp!. cinnamon to boil in asmall saucepan over medium heat!. Dissolve cornstarch in 2 tsps!. water; whisk into hot syrup for a smooth sauce!. Cover, keep warm!.

8 teaspoons butter or margarine
4 small to medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and halved
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
DIRECTIONS
1!. Heat oven to 350°F!. Lightly grease 13x9-inch glass baking dish!.
2!. Flatten biscuits with rolling pin!. Place 1 teaspoon butter in the core area of each apple half!. Wrap each biscuit around 1 apple half!. Place seam side down in greased baking dish!. Combine sugar, water, melted butter and vanilla; pour over dumplings!. Sprinkle cinnamon over dumplings!.
3!. Bake uncovered at 350°F!. for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown and apples are tender!.
