How can I know if this jar is airtight?!
I put a candle in it but I think it would go out even if it wasn't!. Just wondering because I'd like to store some catnip and whatnot in this jar, but if it's not airtight that's no good!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
put the lid on it, and weight down in a sink full of water for a few minutes!. If water stays out, it's airtight!. If water gets in, it's not!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
To test the air tightness of the jar!. Put the lid on the jar, fill the sink with really hot water, and use something to hold the jar under the water!. The air in the jar will expand, you will see bubbles if the jar has a leak!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Place water in jar, put top on and turn jar upside down, leave for a few minutes, if water leaks out jar not air-tight!.
