Burnt myself whilst taking food out the oven?!

Question: Burnt myself whilst taking food out the oven!?
Is there anything I can do to soothe the pain a little!? It's on the corner of my left hand, I bathed it with cold water straight away, but it's still very sore!. Have also read you arent really supposed to apply creams, so is there any other alternatives!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Aloe - straight from the plant, scrape out the jelly substance and apply!.

Ice - press it on the burnt area for at least 10 minutes!.

cold water - when the above is not available!.

I rank the effectiveness in that particular order!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Never, never, never put butter on a burn this makes the pain and burn worse as it traps the heat in!. This is an old wives tale that is incorrect!. I recommend you you put some antibiotic ointment on it such as Neosporin with Pain Relief ( sold over the counter) and put a small nonstick dressing or band aid on it!. The ointment won't trap in the heat, will keep out infection, and will soothe the pain a bit!. The dressing will protect the tender area from being bumped or scraped an reinjured!. Neosporin will also help it not to scar!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vinegar is meant to take the sting out or tomatoes!. But funny enough last week i thought it would be good to go on the sunbed and i burnt my whole body really bad, i went through every remedy you can think of and the only thing that helps was aloe vera cream!. It got really bad that i had to go to the doctor and they gave my some hydrocortizone cream, it is a steroid cream though so i think you need a prescription for it!. hope you get better soon, believe me i know the agony lolWww@FoodAQ@Com

Put an egg white on it, it will still hurt for a bit, but it won't blister and it will go away faster!. Every time I burn myself I do this, and it works amazing! I tell all my friends and husband to do this as well and it has worked for them!. Just hold the egg white on your hand for about 15 minutes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Put an ice cube in a cloth and hold that against the burn!. Only hold it on the burn for about 10 seconds, then remove for about 5 seconds, then reapply!. Keep repeating if necessary!. This will numb the area a bit and relieve the pain!.

Make sure you don't apply the ice directly to your skin -- you could freeze it and make things worse!. Hope you feel better soon!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I burn myself daily, if you run it under water or put ice on it, the burning sensation actually intensifies, usually the soreness subsides after a few minutes!. If it blisters, let it heal on its own to avoid scarring, or use neosporin to help the healingWww@FoodAQ@Com

Nelsons homeopathic burn cream!. Put it on after you have run the burn under cold water!. If you get it on fast enough it stops the skin from blistering!. Cover the burn with a bandage for the next 12 hours or so!. Keeping the air away helps reduce the stinging!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

Put ice on it immediately after getting burned and keep it there (off and on) until the burning stops!. This will prevent blistering also!. Vitamin E oil prevents scarring, but doesn't do anything for the burning sensation!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You shouldnt put cold water on it!. It can causde you to go into a shock ! Never put cold water on a burn !

Run luke warm water on it!. Pat dry and leave it alone!.

Dont put creams or butter on it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Im afraid not!. Some people will probably say butter but I was told that could actually make it worse because it will keep the heat in!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
