Question: Random, but I need a simple onion recipe!?
So, I'm really craving like grilled onions, my dad used to make them on the grill, is there anyway I can like duplicate this in the oven or something!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Cut off both the root and flower ends of the bulb, place cut side down on a piece of aluminum foil, sprinkle with a little seasoning salt, Wrap and bake at 350 for about 45-60 minutes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Broiled Onion
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon Butter Or Margarine
1/8 teaspoon Nutmeg
1 cup Onion -- Chopped
2 tablespoons Dairy Sour Cream
Directions:

Melt the butter or margarine in a small skillet!. Add onions, cook and stir until tender!. Stir in remaining ingredients; spread on cooked beef patties (hamburgers)!. Broil 2 inches from the heat until hot, about 1 minute!.

Oven Roasted Sweet Onions
2 sweet onions, about 8 ounces each
3 cloves garlic, peeled, sliced thinly
3 bay leaves
8 parsley stems
3 sprigs fresh sage or 1/2 teaspoon dried
2 sprigs fresh oregano or 1/4 teaspoon dried
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

Heat oven to 500 degrees!. Cut unpeeled onion into eighths!. Place onion wedges in a single layer in a shallow baking dish!. Sprinkle with garlic and herbs!. Season with salt and pepper; drizzle evenly with vinegar and olive oil!. Roast until onions are lightly caramelized and barely tender, 12-15 minutes!. Remove from oven and let cool!. Serve at room temperature!.

I had the same problem one day, so I did this:

Cut up one onion into rings
Cut up a few small mushrooms
Crushed a small handful of peanuts

Fried with 1 tbsp!. butter and 1 tsp!. salt!. I also added whatever random sauce I had in the fridge!.!.!.

slice a whole onion and cook it in a pan with a little butter till it starts to brown, season with a pinch of salt and pepper!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you have a gas oven, then quarter an onion, brush on some olive oil and broil on high on top rack until desired color, maybe about 3 minutes!. KEEP AN EYE ON IT!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I fry thick slices of onion in just a touch of butter!. Then give them light brushing with balsamic vinegar just before eating!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
