When is meat not fresh or good enough to cook?!

Question: When is meat not fresh or good enough to cook!?
my roommate got mad at me because i threw out her steak!. it was still in the package so it was raw, brown with brown blood at the bottom!. About one third of it was redish!. i had no idea she planned to cook it, i thought it went bad!. so i threw it out!. she said she bought it brown on friday night and planned to eat it on Sunday!. it was so gross i can't imagine she would actually eat it the way it looked (and probably smelled)!. was i wrong!? (i replaced her steak cuz she made such a fuss!.!.!.!.) but i think i saved her from eating something disgusting that could ahve possibly made her and her son sick! what do you think!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
sometimes when the meat has been in the frizzer for too long it can turn brown!. (brown meant there was more blood on that spot then on the spot that was red)Www@FoodAQ@Com
