I mix together corn meal, flour, salt, and just a little pepper!. Fry them in oil until they are brown and crispy!. They are one of my favorite things to eat!. I dry them on paper towels to remove some of the oil!. If you want, you can add a little lemon pepper to the batter!. If not, you can omit the pepper or lemon pepper and sprinkle a little sugar on them while they are still hot!. It will melt and give them a nice flavor!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have fried zucchini and butternut squash!. I seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic, oregano, a little nutmeg, and parmesan cheese!. Both came out great!. Remember to either cut the butternut in small pieces, or cook to soften for a few minutes in the microwave to ensure even cooking!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

All of the recipes you have received are good!. But the easiiest thing I have come up with is to salt and pepper it and then roll it in egg and then packaged corn bread mix!. Pick your favorite one!. Some people like the Jiffy mix because it is sweet!.

Anyway, using the corn bread mix eliminates the need to use cornmeal and flour in the coating!. It is very crispy because there is a little rising agent in the mix!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have tried fried summer squash!. It is very good!. I season the sliced squash with salt and pepper, dip in milk, roll in cornmeal and flour mixed, then fry in hot oil until golden and crispy on both sides!. Then, I sprinkle with kosher salt!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I batter small pieces of squash when I fry it!. I've never fried it outright (w/o a batter)!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
