Ingredients
5 extra-large whole eggs
2 extra-large egg yolks
2 1/2 cups half-and-half
1/3 cup honey
1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
2 teaspoons orange zest (2 oranges)
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
Brioche loaf
1/2 cup golden raisins
Maple syrup, to serve
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F!.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the whole eggs, egg yolks, half-and-half, honey, vanilla, orange zest, and salt!. Set aside!.

Slice the brioche loaf into 6 (1-inch) thick pieces!. Lay half brioche slices flat in a 9 by 14 by 2-inch oval baking dish!. Spread the raisins on top of the brioche slices, and place the remaining slices on top!. Make sure that the raisins are between the layers of brioche or they will burn while baking!. Pour the egg mixture over the bread and allow to soak for 15 minutes, pressing down gently!.

Bake for 55 to 60 minutes or until the pudding puffs up and the custard is set!. Remove from the oven and cool slightly before serving!.

Biscuits - you can stuff 'em with breakfast meats or cheese or just slather 'em with butter and spread ont he honey or jam

Sift together 2C sifted self-rising flour, a scant 1/4t baking powder and 1/4t bking soda into a large mixing bowl!. With a pastry cutter or 2 knives, cut in 1/2C butter until it is the size of BB,s!. Make a well in the mixture, add 3/4C buttermilk and stir until just moistened!. Turn out onto a floured board and knead 3 - 4 times--the more you mess with it, the tougher the biscuits!. Roll to 3/4" thick, cut with a 2" biscuit cutter and bake on a lgihtly greased sheet @ 450 for 10 - 12 minutes!. brush with melted butter!.

According to Dennis Rogers, these biscuits will make weak men strong, pretty girls blush and children mind their manners!.

VERMONT BLUEBERRY BUCKLE

3/4 c!. sugar
1/4 c!. shortening
1 egg
3/4 c!. milk
2 c!. flour
2 tsp!. baking powder
1/4 tsp!. salt
2 c!. blueberries or drained canned blueberries

TOPPING:

1/2 c!. sugar
1/2 c!. flour
1/2 tsp!. cinnamon
1/4 c!. soft butter

Mix topping ingredients in a small bowl!. Set aside!.
Beat together sugar and shortening (or butter)!. When mixture becomes light, add egg and beat!.

Mix together dry ingredients on a piece of waxed paper!. Pour half of dry ingredients into bowl, add milk and remaining dry ingredients!.

Stir together until combined, do not overmix!. Sprinkle berries on top and stir in!.

Sprinkle on topping and bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes

Strawberry Bread- I got the recipe from allrecipes!.com - just look type it in your search engine- It is an awful lot of sugar- but I have used strawberry bread for so many things- for a party I once baked it in a sheet pan and served it with ameretto dip(another recipe I got from that site)- it was a hit!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
