How can you tell if the chicken on your plate is a hen or a rooster?!


Question: How can you tell if the chicken on your plate is a hen or a rooster!?
Do they taste the same!?

I was wondering this earlier when I made a whole chicken in the oven!. Do roosters end up in the oven too or are they all hens!? And do they taste the same if it was a rooster!? I'm just courious since other birds taste different!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The only Rooster in the world that's served is called a Capon!.!.!.!.And the price would be about $45!.00 dollars a plate more!.!.!.They only use hens very hard to get a Capon Rooster!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Roosters aren't for human consumption!. They use those for dog food/etc!.

no they are not all hens I'm not sure how you would tell the differnce!. I can't taste the difference but that is just me!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They taste the same!. I grew up with a grandmother who raised and cooked her own chickens so I have eaten both!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would think a hen is the darker colored one!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Try looking between the legs, if that dont work, try
