The best thing about a slow cooker is when you throw in some really cheap cuts of beef and they come out 8 hours later as tender as fillet steak!.
So quick and easy, a pound of diced cheap stewing or braising steak (leave the fat on), a chopped onion, 2 cloves of garlic, a tin of chopped tomatoes, a tin of oxtail soup, a large sliced carrot!. If you like something a little more spicy add two teaspoons of paprika and one teaspoon of chilli powder!. Serve with boiled rice!. Quick, easy and delicious!. Don't try and cook rice, or rice based dishes in a slow cooker!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I use my slow cooker 4 days a week!.!. I love it!! The only thing to be sure to avoid is always be sure to have the cooker on high for the first hour or two to kill any raw meat germs!.!. and then you can turn it down if you want!.
I love chicken and dumplings!.!. on fly lady's website she has some slow cooker recipies!.!. I also love throwing in a whole fryer chicken and making my own little rotiserie!. I have done cornish hens, chicken drum sticks with a bottle of sweet baby ray's bbq sauce!. roasts!. split pea soup, beef stew, ham hocks, !. my husbands favorite roast is beef chuck, with a bottle of prepared horseradish on top!.!. cook all day and the spicyness cooks out of it, so all you have left is the favor!.!.
also you can take italian sausages and cook them in a marninara sauce with green pepers and onions and serve it over mashed potato!.
The thing that is soo great about a slow cooker is that you can use few ingredients, lower grade cuts of meat, and get a great result due ot the cooking process!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hi, i LOVE my slow cooker, especially at this time of year!. To be honest alot of the recipes are basically the same, meat, veg, herbs and gravy or tinned tomatoes - all really delicious after being cooked slowly for hours!. I have just recently started cooking my joints of meat in the slow cooker!. I put the meat in there with stock or gravy and some chopped onions at teatime the night before i want to eat it!. Then i take it out of the slow cooker about half an hour before we are going to eat it !.!.!.!. mmmm delicious, the meat is so tender!!Www@FoodAQ@Com
i love making a beef roast on sundays in my slow cooker!. go to the store and get a roast like chuck roast or rump roast it doesn't matter really as long as it says roast but i like chuck!. anyways fill with water about 2 or 3 inches in the crock pot add 2 or 3 beef bullion cubes put the roast in the crock pot and season the top of the roast with garlic salt or powder, crushed red peppers (not too many if you don't like spicy), onion powder, pepper, other seasoning that you like doesn't matter!. then you pretty much cook it all day until the roast falls apart!. i usually put mine on at 9 on high for the first 2 hours then i switch to low or medium heat!. around 5 its usually done sometimes 6 make sure it falls apart!. take roast out put in bowl and tear it apart a bit set aside!. the broth in the crock pot is hot so for gravy in a glass add flour and water and mix together and slowly add to the broth in the crock pot until its the desired thickness!. my gravy turns out so flavorful!. this recipe might sound confusing but its sooooo simple!. the crushed red pepper adds a really good flavor to the gravy!. my daughter who is soooo picky loves it!. my husband eats over half of it in one setting!. i serve with rice or mashed potatoes!. your choice!. My absolute favorite thing would be beef sandwiches-- Add a chuck roast, palmful of Italian seasoning mix, a couple garlic cloves, 2 bay leaves, (depending on your level of heat) pepperchini with juice start off the first time with half jar unless you like heat, beef broth to cover- cook on low for 8- 12 hours!. I usually do mine over night!.
Left overs are great- I drain juice and fry meat in skillet and make nachos, add to ramen with carrots, celery, and pepper to make soup!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I love my crock and I use it all the time! You really can't screw it up, its easy as pie! My favorite thing is to make the meat just falling apart!. I put a package of chicken breasts in the crock and a bottle of jerk marinade in the crock!. I add a little bit of water to rinse out the bottle of marinade and pour it in the crock!. Turn it on high for 4-8 hours and enjoy!! I do this with any flavor marinade I am craving at the time!. Everytime I use this technique my husband insists I am the best cook ever, and I just laugh cus it is SO easy!. I have served the chicken I have made this way over bread, rice, noodles, on buns, etc!. I actually have turkey breast cutlet cooking at home this way right now!! I have the turkey breasts, 4 cups of chicken broth, I added some rosemary (always a good pair with poultry), garlic, onion powder, basil, and turned it on low so it should be ready when I get home from work at 5:00! Hope this helps! Use your crock to it's fullest potential! It makes cooking fun and easy, and you can do it in the morning, and have it ready for dinner without having to slave over a stove after a long day at work!Www@FoodAQ@Com
This is my fave!.
You get a jar of the thai green curry sauce & water
(I know it sounds gross but it is lovely) - get some chicken pieces (salted), get some baby potatoes and cut them in half, some green beans, baby carrots & baby sweetcorn (you can chuck them in towards the end so they are not too soggy!.
I just do this one first thing in the morning, forget about it for the rest of the day then it is ready for the evening!.
Have it with crusty bread!. Easy and yummy!.

The best thing I make in my crock pot (and I use it a lot) is onion soup!. I just put in sliced onions, water and soy sauce and let it cook for at least 24 hours on low!. Because it slow cooks for so long, it has a great flavor and it has no added fat!. It is so simple, but people really like it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
