Besides Christmas, Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday!. Why you ask!? Because of all that food!! I come from a very large tight knit family and by large I mean I have one grandmother, 7 aunts, and 24 cousins!. On Thanksgiving we all get together and cook like there is no tomorrow and since none of my aunts can stand not to make turkey we end up with at least 5 different kinds of turkey and 3 different kinds of stuffing add that up with the massive amounts of cakes, pies, vegetables, and various other meats that we all bring to the table!. You will see why I LOVE Thanksgiving!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

I cook a turkey in a pit in the ground!. It is a tradition we started last year when I didn't have a working oven!. It is fun to sit around the fire the night before and the next day around noon we have the most succulent, and tasty turkey meat you could possibly think of!. We can't go back to a oven cooked turkey now!.

along side will be:
traditional mashed potatoes
lots of homemade gravy
cornbread stuffing
petite peas
candied yam and (green)apple bake w/walnuts
whole and jellied cranberry sauce

pumpkin pie

pumpkin chiffon pie ( my great-grandmothers recipe)

I am thankful I have taste buds!
