my mom usually takes care of everything, but this year i want to make something as well, a side dish perhaps!. something easy to make (i am a lousy cook) and good too!. any suggestions!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Whipped Sweet Potato Bake

3 cans (15 oz!. each) sweet potatoes, drained
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine, melted
1 tsp!. ground cinnamon
1 tsp!. ground ginger
1/4 tsp!. ground nutmeg
3 cups Miniature Marshmallows

HEAT oven to 350°F!. Beat sweet potatoes, butter, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg with mixer until blended!.

SPOON into lightly greased 1-1/2-qt!. casserole dish; top with marshmallows!.

BAKE 15 to 20 min!. or until mixture is heated through and marshmallows are lightly browned!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yesterday I was watching a video where Tyler Florence from Food Network was making these fabulous looking green beans, and they looked very simple!. (See link below)
Cranberries are very easy to make at home using fresh cranberries!. The directions are on the package!. You can make many impressive looking Jello sidedishes, like a a mold with candied cherries and whipped cream!. Traditional sides like mashed potatos are very easy as well!.
Your mom might enjoy cooking one big meal a year like this, so if you can't think of anything, maybe you could ask her to teach you how she does it!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

This sounds absolutely nuts, but for years we did a pot-luck thanksgiving and the only crock pot that was empty year after year was ours!. Get 2-3 packages of Birds Eye sweet baby corn, toss them in the crock pot on low with a stick of real butter!. I dont know why, but after about 4-6 hours it's the best corn ever!

also try maybe green beans with halved cranberries (just steamed green beans)

Sweet potato casserole is super easy, and you can even get a box at the store that is a kit!

Rolls!? Pillsbury should make that easy!.

Something you might offer as well is to bring a spiral ham (directions are on the ham) I know I've offered this at family thanksgivings and it allows the host to make a smaller turkey and spend less time cooking!. It also means variety!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Here's an easy spinach side dish for you:

SPINACH CASSEROLE
1 10-oz!. pkg!. frozen, chopped spinach (thawed & drained)
1 1-lb!. carton small curd cottage cheese
1/2 lb!. grated cheddar cheese
6 TB flour
1/4 lb!. melted butter
6 eggs
Beat all ingredients together in large bowl!. Pour into greased casserole dish and bake at 350 for 1 hour !.!.!.!.!. serves 8

And, there's always a fruit salad:) You can still find strawberries and melons & berries at the grocery store; and pineapple chunks!. Just toss them all together in a bowl and serve (no sauce or sugar necessary)!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Broccoli with Lemon Butter Sauce

1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup water
1 lemon, juiced
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
salt and pepper to taste
1 (16 ounce) package frozen broccoli florets

In a large skillet, combine the butter, water, lemon juice, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper!. Bring to a simmer over medium heat!. Add the broccoli to the pan, stir to coat, and cover with a lid!. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes over medium-low heat, stirring once, until broccoli is tender but still bright green!. Serve warm, or refrigerate and serve cold!.

Cold Corn Salad

1 (10 ounce) package frozen whole-kernel corn, thawed
1/4 cup diced yellow bell pepper
1/4 cup diced red bell pepper
1/4 cup diced green bell pepper
1/2 red onion, chopped
1/4 cup chopped cucumber
1 small tomato, chopped
1/2 cup mayonnaise, or to taste

In a large bowl, mix together the corn, yellow pepper, red pepper, green pepper, red onion, cucumber, tomato and mayonnaise!. Adjust the amount of mayonnaise to your liking!. Chill until serving!.

Yellow Squash and Corn Casserole


2 eggs
1 (11 ounce) can cream-style corn
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoons white sugar
1/4 teaspoon minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 cup chopped onions
2 cups sliced yellow squash
1/2 cup biscuit baking mix

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)!. Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan!.
Whisk eggs in a large bowl until smooth!. Stir in cream corn, Parmesan cheese, oil, sugar, garlic, and pepper!. Fold in onions, squash, and biscuit mix!. Pour into prepared baking pan!.
Bake in preheated oven until bubbly and lightly browned, 30 to 40 minutes

Ok!! Here is a good SUPER EASY sandwich recipe-

You Need:
Potato Rolls (they are just like regular rolls)
Roast beef from your deli
Provolone Cheese

Put the roast beef and cheese on the roll!.

Ready-made stuffing is always a plus at Thanksgiving dinner, and the directions are usually right on the box!.
