Answers:
oooh, boy - I actually have a Mrs!. Fields recipe!. It's not the same as the cookie you get in the store but it's a Mrs!. Fields Recipe, and they disappear like you cannot believe!.
I have to dash downstairs to get the recipe so I'll be RIGHT BACK!
--------
Okay, here we go!. Before I start, let me share my secret for keeping the cookie soft: take the pan out of the oven when the cookie edges have begun to turn golden brown!. Do not worry that the center is still uncooked!. The cookie continues to bake on the pan, but won't turn hard and crusty (unless you like them that way)!. You'll have to watch them closely at first, but try not to open the door too much!. Once you get a feel for how long it takes, you'll be fine!.
Mrs!. Fields Chocolate Chip Cookies
LARGE BOWL
Cream:
2 cups butter (softened)
Add:
2 cups white sugar
2 cups brown sugar
Add:
4 eggs
2 Tablespoons vanilla
SMALLER BOWL
4 cups flour
5 cups oatmeal (after measuring, powder in blender) (I just use quick oats and don't powder it)
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture
Then add
24 ounces chocolate chips
8 ounces grated Hershey bar (I don't add this)
3 cups chopped nuts (optional)
Bake:
at 350 degrees F for 8 minutes
Yield: 112 cookies
========
Notes: I cut the entire recipe in half, and since I use a cookie scoop, I still get about 100 - 115 cookies!.
I usually use Nestle chips but Ghiradelli or Mrs!. Fields taste just as good!. The generic chips just don't have the same taste!.
You can also include some crushed Heath bits but they leave a bit of sticky stuff on the pan if you overbake!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
