Answers:
have a pal make him a turnip cannon out of sched 80 plastic pipe, or heavy walled steel shelby pipe for the barrel!. brings all the neighbors outside, and everyone is watching to see the turnip fly through the air and land someplace!.

Pumpkins are too heavy and messy to shoot, but some guys get some really great range out of their's!.

no bowling ball cannons either, because all discarded bowling balls have flaws and cracks, and when shot out of a cannon, have a tendency to curl around the cannon barrel right out of the muzzle, clipping the triggerman (men) in a most unfavorable way!.
