I learned a great way to cook asparagus from a cooking show by Giada de Laurentis!. I will never boil asparagus again !.
Wash and snap the ends off and place in a container !. Drizzle with olive oil and salt and pepper!. Then place on a cookie sheet and put in a pre-heated oven at 350degrees for 15 to 20 minutes depending on the thickness of the spears!. You can season with parmesan cheese if you wish!. I also do it this way on the BBQ in the summer!.
This is now our favourite vegetable!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Asparagus is my fave veg!
Here's what I do:
1!. Tie the asparagus spears in a bunch
2!. Cook the asparagus spears for 4 to 5 minutes in boiling salt water, or steam for about 6 minutes in a steamer!.
3!. Place the asparagus in a rectangular dish filled with a small amount of water and salt!. Cover with plastic wrap and microwave maybe 8 minutes
I find that just stemaing them tastes better and is easier!. Frying them/sauteeing them ruins the flavourWww@FoodAQ@Com

I like to saute it or steam it!. For steaming, you'll need a steamer!. fill it about one inch off the bottom with water, and bring to a boil!. Put in the asparagus and steam it for 5 minutes for starters!. Cooking time all depends on if you like it crisp or mushy, though!. For sauteing, put a couple tablespoons of olive oil or butter in a pan, and saute on medium high heat for about 5 minutes, once again, time depends on personal taste!. Oh! I forgot!. Before you cook the asparagus, you need to snap of the ends!. They will snap right at the bad, tough part!. Wishing you happy eating! :DWww@FoodAQ@Com
If you boil them just be sure not to tie them up with blue string like Bridget Jones did ~ lol!Www@FoodAQ@Com
