Question: How do you make the gravy for pie & mash!?
Answers:
Not sure if you mean liquor or onion gravy, so here are the recipes for both!.

Ingredients Parsley Liquor

25 Gram Butter (1 oz)
25 Gram Plain flour (1 oz)
300 ml Water (10 fl oz)
4 Tablespoon Chopped fresh parsley
Salt and freshly ground pepper
1 Teaspoon Malt vinegar, optional

How to make Parsley Liquor

* Parsley LiquorMelt the butter in a saucepan!. Add the flour and cook for 1 minute!.

* Gradually add the water or stock!. Bring to the boil, stirring continuously!. Add the parsley and seasoning and vinegar if using!.

* Serve with a minced beef pie and mashed potatoes!.


Onion Gravy -
285ml (? pint) Vegetable Stock or Water
1 Large Onion
1 tbsp Oil
1 tbsp Heaped Flour
1 Bay Leaf
Pinch Dried Sage
Soy Sauce
Salt and Pepper, to taste

Peel and chop the onion!.
Heat the oil in a heavy based saucepan and add the onion, sauté gently until golden brown!.
Add the flour and herbs, cook for 3-4 minutes, ensuring that the flour does not burn!.
Gradually add the stock (or water), stirring constantly to prevent lumps!.
Bring to the boil and simmer for 10 minutes!.
Add the soy sauce and season to taste!.
Remove the bay leaf, serve as is or blend into a smooth sauce!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Pie and Mash with parsley liquor -

General Gravy Recipe:

Put the amount of water in the pan as you would like gravy!.
Add a significant amount of flour or cornstarch!. Mix until dissolved!.
Add spices, bouillon cubes/broth, and some source of fat (drippings, oil, or butter) to taste!.

Heat slowly to boiling, and stir occasionally with a whisk until thickened!.

You could spend hours making cordon bleu gravy from scratch but since it's pie and mash and I guess that would be a chore for anyone!.
