Gas, definitely!. It heats up much quicker and gives you better temperature control!. also, you can do the fancy little tip to the flame when you're cooking with alcohol (I tend to use rum in deserts, just so I can do this)!. Added bonus - cheaper to use!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
At first I loved electric because my mom has electric!. Then after getting married and having a gas stove, I love gas better!. For one thing, gas stoves heat turns off as soon as you turn it off!. Electric stoves however take a while before the heat reduces, leaving you to possibly burning your food if you're not careful!.
also with gas stoves, you can control the heat a lot better than with electric!. Even though electric has a knob as well as the gas stove does, that dictates the heat temp; what I said above still remains with this situation too!. If you're heat is too high and want to lower it, it takes a bit longer for the heat to reduce from an electric stove, than a gas stove!.

I have had both in my life!. I prefer gas!. To me it is easier to see the flame and thereby judge how much heat is being used!. My electric stove has settings 0 low to 9 high!.!.!.I just had to learn from experience what each meant!. Not as easy and the results are not as predictable!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
well!.!.!. with gas u can control the temperature better and once u cut it off its not hot anymore, but u could accidently leave the pilot light on and u could blow ur house up or inhale too much of the toxic fumes!.!.!.!.!.!.!.with electric its harder to control and when u cut it off its still hot, but there arent any fumes!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. go with electricWww@FoodAQ@Com

i like a gas range top but prefer an electric oven!.
gas range has better temp control than with elec!.
gas oven is a wet heat not ideal for baked goods(bread especially) also it is very uneven because the flames cause hot spotsWww@FoodAQ@Com
