Can fresh cranberrys be eaten raw?!

Question: Can fresh cranberrys be eaten raw!?
I make a traditional cranberry salad ever year for Thanksgiving and Christmas!. I always grind the fresh cranberry's,add jello, Orange peal, sugar, celery and mix it all up and put it in frieze and let it jell!. I heard on TV this morning never to eat a raw cranberry! I don't understand why not! What possibly could this be!. I just caught the tail end of what I heard!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, you can eat them raw!. No problem!. Plain and raw, now for that, you've got to have taste buds of steel!

For a few years, I made a cranberry relish where I chopped up in the food processor a bag of fresh cranberries, 1 thin-skinned orange (no seeds), 1 red- and 1 green-skinned apple (cored), and a Tbsp or two of superfine sugar!. Tasty!Www@FoodAQ@Com

It may have been on that food myth show, which is always not so clear!. As long as you wash them well first, it is totally safe!. My mom makes an apple cranberry tart, and once I took a raw cranberry from the tart before it was baked, I'm still alive to answer this question, right!? It's fine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
