Question: What's the best way to prevent shells from cracking when boiling eggs!?
Most times when I put them in boiling water the shells crack and a lot of the white ends up in the water!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

egg poker device!. It puts
a pin prick in the egg shell
before boiling!.
Which allows the shell to be
easily peeled after cooked!.

For softcooked eggs, Mrs!. Corriher recommends a boiling-water start!.
Be sure that you let your eggs sit in a bowl of hot tap water for five
minutes before you drop them into the pan; you really don't want to
drop chilled eggs into boiling water!. :) While your eggs are warming,
fill your pan with enough water to cover your eggs by an inch, put
over the heat and bring to a rolling boil!. Add a teaspoon of salt and
gently slip the eggs into the pot!. Bring back to the boil, then turn
the heat down to a simmer!. After 2 1/2 - 3 minutes, the eggs will be
cooked through, but the white will still be quite soft; after four
minutes the white will be firm; after 5-6 minutes the eggs will be
medium-soft!. Rinse the eggs briefly under cold water before serving!.

For hardcooked eggs, Mrs!. Corriher says that either a boiling-water or
cold-water start will work!. I am a big fan of the cold-water start,
because it's easy, if time-consuming, and I always get perfect eggs
this way!. Place your eggs in the pan in a single layer; cover them
with water by 1 1/2 inches and place them over the heat!. Partially
cover and bring to a rolling boil!. Cover the pan and turn the heat
down, let continue to boil for 30 seconds, then turn off the heat and
let them sit, covered, for 15 minutes!. Rinse the eggs under cold water
for 5 minutes before peeling!. The yolks will be slightly custardy,
but still cooked through, with none of the sulfurous green ring that
marks the overcooked egg!.

First of all you are supposed to boil the water first and then boil the egg for 12 minutes and 12 minutes only!. You place the egg on a spoon and then you carefully place it in the water!. If you want you can lower the heat while you are placing the egg in the water but make sure that the water is boiling!. You can't just put the eggs and cold water and let it boil, the egg needs to be in the water for only 12 min!. for hard boiled eggs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Put eggs in the water before you start up the heat!. Heavily salt the water!. Do not overcrowd the pot with eggs and when the water starts boiling turn the water to a simmer so they are not violently banging around!. Finally, do not cook them longer than necessary!. you put the eggs in a pan w/ cold water than boil them!. you cant drop the eggs in hot water or they will crack!. if u want to make hard boiled eggs or deviled eggs thats how u do it and boil about ten minutes!. then after 10 min take them off heat and let them get to room temp while still in the water and they will be easy to peelWww@FoodAQ@Com

You don't put them in boiling water, that's where you're going wrong!. Start off by putting the eggs into a pot, run the tap water in until they are well covered!. Put them on the stove and turn the heat on!. Boil them for about 6-8 minutes for hard boiled eggs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

let them sit on the counter so there not cold when you put them in the boiling water!. But don't set them out for to long just long enough to where there not to cold!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
