Question: If I am going to use cake flour in a recipe that calls for self-rising flour how much cake flour should I use!?
Slf-rising flour calls for using alittle more flour than Biscuit Baking Flour!.So now I want to know if you use more or less of cake flour or is it going to be just the same as using self-rising flour!.

Answers:
cake flour is just flour it is finer than regular flour!. self rising flour has baking powder and salt!. Biscuit mix has everything in it just add liquid!. you would use BisquickWww@FoodAQ@Com

What are you making exactly!? I actually just completed a bread baking laboratory utilizing standard bread flour and compairing the results to those with soy flour, soy protein isolate and cake flour!.

If you use cake flour and are making a bread, you will get a biscuit!. Please reply to what you are making so I have an idea what you are talking about!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Cake flour has less gluten than self rising flour!. You will need more of it to produce a similar chewiness in you dough!. However self rising has baking powder and/or baking soda mixed in hence SELF rising!. Make sure you put some sort of leavening agent into your recipe!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

That alone won't do it, you'll need 1 tsp baking powder as well,
or 1/3 tsp baking soda & 1/2 tsp cream of tartar,
or 1/4 tsp baking soda plus 1/3 cup sour milk!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
