Have no tin foil.. what adjustments should I make so it doesn't burn?!
So I'm not really cooking - it's a put it together and bake it box of lasagna!.!. Anyway, it calls for 35 - 40 minutes at 425, covered in tin foil!. Well I just found out I don't have any tin foil, so what do I change so it doesn't cook wrong!? Different time!? Different temp!? (Obviously I am NOT a cook!)Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
Place a cookie sheet on top of your lasagna pan!. Be sure to use a good mitt when you decide to touch the sheet again if it's hot or you'll be burned!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
You can't really do anything!. The tin foil is there to make sure that the edges and top don't dry out while cooking!. If you don't use tin foil, you will end up with nasty hardened pasta on the edges, and a dry top!. The middle will still be good though!.
Edit: the person below me has a good idea if you aren't willing to go buy some tin foil!. I'm not sure how it will work, but it might help!. It sounds like the lasagna has a possibility of overflowing with that method though!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Top it w/ a flat cookie sheet!. (be sure your pan of lasagna is also on a sheet pan w/ sides, in case it bubbles over)!. Then remove the pan when you're supposed to remove the foil!. A lid of somesort allows the heat to stay in and the lasagna to get hot thru and thru, not just on edges and on top!. It also holds in moisture so the cheese doesn't burn!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
do you have a slow cooker!? spray some cooking spray around the sides to prevent it sticking- switch in on high for a couple of hrs and see what you think when you come back, whether it needs to be done moreWww@FoodAQ@Com
