How to thaw a 26lb turkey?!

Question: How to thaw a 26lb turkey!?
Answers:
In the refrigerator for 4 - 5 days!. Usually it takes 3-4 days, but that is one large turkey! Largest I have ever seen is 22lbs - good for you that you found one that big!. In any event, go with at least 4 days!. The day you are going to prepare the turkey, I recommend taking it out of the frig 3 hours prior - take everything out of the cavity and if it is still frozen - put it in the sink (sanitized of course) for an hour to completely thaw!. i usually put a 22-24 pound bird in a 5 gallon bucket(sandwich shops get sliced pickles in them, not one used for chemicals) and add cold water!. Keep the bucket in the coldest part of your house, change the water 2-3 times a day(always cold water) in 2 maybe 3 days tops, it's thawed completely!. I do this every year, never an issue with any food born illness due to the fact that the turkey is a giant ice cube to begin with, so the temp never gets to a point where bacteria would thrive!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Start thawing it in the fridge TODAY!. As soon as you can get the giblets and neck out then remove them!. That will help the turkey thaw!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
